Contraception – Birth Control Methods
Female contraception involves the use of various devices (such as an IUD, diaphragm and condoms), agents (spermicidal lotions), oral drugs (birth control pills) or surgical procedures (such as tubal ligation) to intentionally prevent conception during intercourse. With so many effective contraceptive options on the market today, it is best for a woman to discuss her hopes and desires, as well as any fears and concerns she may have, with her gynecologist so that the best birth control method can be planned.
