A Personal Note from Dr. Greebon:

Hi! I am Daryl Greebon.  I have been an Obstetrician/Gynecologist for many years, and believe that I have gained broad and comprehensive experience during that time.

I obtained my Bachelors degree from Rice University in Houston, awarded cum laude.  I followed up with medical school here in Dallas at University of Texas Southwestern.  After training at what was then one of the top 5 training programs in the country, Magee Women’s Hospital in Pittsburgh, Pa.,  I started a small town practice in Zanesville, Ohio.  After 7 years there, my wife Karen and I and our three children decided to move back closer to home, and in 1986 I came to Plano.

I have practiced and served extensively at Medical Center of Plano in numerous capacities.  I have served on almost every committee at the hospital at one time or another.  I have been Chairman of the OB department twice, and have served as Chairman of the Peer Review Committee, Secretary of the Medical Staff, and Chief of Staff of the Hospital. In my early years here I also worked at Richardson Hospital, and now also work at Baylor Medical Center of Plano, where I currently serve on the Credentials Committee.  So much for credentials, I would prefer to tell you who I am, both professionally, and personally.

Professionally, I have had vast training and experience in my field.  I have delivered over 5000 babies, and continue to enjoy doing so, both for Normal Pregnancy and for High Risk Pregnancy.  I have a particular passion for Gynecologic Surgery.  My surgical training in residency was more extensive than most, my early experience in a small town provided extensive surgical experience and I have continued to pursue the latest techniques including robotic hysterectomy and robotic myomectomy, and the most advanced procedures for repair of uterine prolapse, pelvic organ prolapse, and urinary incontinence.  I currently serve as a Da Vinci Robotic Surgery proctor, teaching other doctors to do these procedures.

For the last 7 years I have eagerly gone to Guatemala for one week each year to do surgery there, often performing very difficult and complex procedures that we only see rarely in the U.S.  I find it a tremendously rewarding time, and a time of personal growth professionally, personally, and spiritually.

Personally, while I strive always to excel and be the best (I think that came from my mother), I know for a fact that I should never take myself too seriously.  Life is too short.  I choose tdrgreebon2o be happy every day, and I look for the humor in life whenever possible.  I enjoy the camaraderie of golf, the freedom of riding a motorcycle, and the peace and escape of a good Fantasy novel.  I love my three dogs, a Golden Retriever, and two Yorkies  I have at times enjoyed skiing, scuba diving, and woodworking.

My three children are all grown and pursuing their own lives.  John and his wife have a video production company in Sedona, Arizona.  Debbie, our world adventurer, is currently doing an education related study in Guatemala on a Fulbright Grant.  Trent is highly successful in a software company here in Plano.

As with most of you, we have not been without tragedy and sorrow in our family, and as a result, I feel a special connection with those who are hurting in life.  I am not afraid to talk with you about traumas of life, or depression or anxiety, or spiritual concerns or needs.

So much for me, I truly hope that you have a happy day!
