Jennifer Newton, M.D.

Dr. Jennifer D. Newton is a gynecologist and obstetrician serving the healthcare needs of women throughout North Texas. She is in private practice with the Women’s Specialists of Plano in Plano, Texas, and at the Women’s Link Center in Wylie, Texas.

Dr. Newton provides comprehensive and innovative life-stage care for women of all ages including adolescent and young adult gynecology, obstetrics, well-women care, and menopause.  She also offers leading innovative procedures and cutting edge treatments such as the minimally invasive surgery for a variety of gynecologic conditions.  Dr. Newton offers pre-natal care to women, and provides them with professional, compassionate treatment from pre-conception and pre-natal health, to delivery and post-delivery.

Born and raised in Honey Grove, Texas, a small town just Northeast of McKinney, Dr. Newton attended Stephen F. Austin University where she graduated Summa Cum Laude earning a degree in Biology. She later attended medical school at Texas A & M University, and went on to complete her postgraduate training and residency at Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas.

Dr. Jennifer Newton

Dr. Newton’s areas of interest include every aspect of obstetrics including family planning, as well as both normal and high-risk pregnancies. She specializes in female urinary incontinence, hormone replacement, and offers numerous procedures such as Essure permanent birth control, endometrial ablation, and myomectomy for the treatment of uterine fibroids.

A member of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, as well as the American Medical Association/Texas Medical Association, Dr. Newton has won numerous awards, including the Leonard Tow Humanism in Medicine Award, the Labor and Delivery Excellence Award from Baylor Medical Center, and she was recognized for having the highest score on her CREOG in-service examination.

Dr. Newton is an accomplished pianist and originally decided to major in piano before making the move to medicine.  She still plays piano every week for her church, Canyon Creek Baptist Church in Richardson, Texas. Dr. Newton has been married to her husband, Daniel, for almost 13 years.  They have a 3-year old (Katy Grace) and 1-year old (Noah).  In her spare time, she loves to read and be with her family.
